The app offers an interactive guide on the treasures and paths of the canal system!
The application presents some important new features: through localization services it is possible to consult the list of points of interest based on your location, viewing them both on a map and as a list. Alongside localization, a new way has been introduced to explore the routes along the canals that surround and cross Milan. The application allows you to prepare your own visit itinerary (on foot, by bike or by boat) and memorize it so you can quickly consult it during your journey to discover I NAVIGLI Lombardi. Finally, you can take a photograph to enrich your itinerary and, if you wish, make it available to everyone as a shared tourist guide.
The territory of the Navigli System is rich in history and art.
Navigli Lombardi offers all friends of I NAVIGLI an interactive guide on the treasures and routes along the canals that Leonardo da Vinci used for his travels, studied and drew in his two periods in Milan, the first of seventeen years at the court of Ludovico il Moro and the second of five years during the presence of the French in Milan. There are many traces of Leonardo on I NAVIGLI , from Vaprio d'Adda to Abbiategrasso which was on his route towards Vigevano and the Sforzesca, passing through the Conche dell'Incoronata with its Porte Vinciane but above all from the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie flanked by the Refectory with the Last Supper, to which today is added the Ambrosiana Library which houses the most important of Leonardo's codes, the Atlantic.
And it is also through Leonardo's Routes that you can discover many different itineraries along I NAVIGLI , to discover its great material and immaterial cultural heritage and relive its history which on their banks saw Barbarossa and Alberto da Giussano, the Viscontis, the Sforzas, Maria Teresa of Austria, Napoleon... But also to discover the traditions and flavors of a territory which still today has an excellent agri-food production chain, daughter of those canalization and irrigation works that have transformed the Lombard landscape over the centuries. That landscape which can largely be explored by bicycle along the towpaths or on foot within the itineraries of the Ticino Park, the Adda North Park and the South Park, following the suggestions proposed by this guide.
